"Hometown Glow" featuring Mpho Toteng

Dumelang!

Absolutely no feeling as magical as slaying on home soil hence the title of this post. Based not only on the fact that I'm home and loving every minute of it, but also linked to the aspect of embracing COLOR in a season of mellow shades.

My team (2 friends *giggles*) and I took it to the streets of Phaks showcasing the in-trend Chanel Lego Brick Clutch(latest purchase for a friend) and a bright yellow "all-purpose" tube skirt that comes in super handy. My theme, arguably smart casual.Graced by the presence of my lovely and dear friend Mpho Toteng whose creativity never ceases to amaze me! here goes...

  • Royal blue pumps by ZARA
  • Denim Jacket (Street market bargain)
  • "all-purpose" tube skirt
  • Celine Paris T-shirt
  • 2014 Chanel Lego Clutch Bag

Grateful for all the love I've been receiving from my faithful readers on social networks and in person. Intangible

Intangible...
a choir without voices, decisions without choices,a short lived forever
true love without a lover..

Remember when you were a young'in
and something cool happened like a 30 second headstand or a double back spin
but when you tried doing it in front of people it wouldn't happen again?
I get that still
hours on hours of filling up a pail of love and laughter and watching it spill...
blank pages at wordy stages of life
for some reason this non existent love feels so right
The awkwardly beautiful face I linked to the soft strings of Lauren Hill's guitar
...the same face that would make me transform phases to new ages of externally sweet and internally bitter
yet again in these ages, what beauty do we speak of with that thing-a filter?

Sometimes I feel like I'm lost in a dark city
where the only person who can see me is me
where my tears are absorbed back into my system long before my neighbor can pity me
where my stories have become melancholy's melodies and my lovely memories a prison guard that lives to torture me

A song without lyrics...
I feel like I make sense, confusing present with past tense, trading reality for pretense
I feel like the world doesn't understand...
a choir without voices, decisions without choices,a short lived forever
true love without a lover..

Botswana's Own; Third Edition featuring Thapelo Letsebe

2012 November, first spotted by the FashionPoet at Fab Fridays hosted by Blumuffin entertainment. He stunted in a casual over sized green pullover that had a touch of tribal prints, paired with plain skinnies, a haircut to write home about, dance moves that grasped attention and a personality that oozed right out to 50 meters away where I stood admiring this free spirit without him having to utter a word. Almost a year and a half later,he's still devoted to fashion with a particularly unique sense of style and is fast becoming a character to look out for,the ever so fabulous Thapelo Letsebe!
Ash brown high top!Impeccable shot.

"Free Spirit, admire me from the ground, fly with me but never try to cage me"-Unknown

Gaborone based Thapelo in his very early twenties is an aspiring stylist, the co-founder of PuuurSHION blog (alongside Thuto Seane) and a sucker for fashion. He carries a great deal of confidence within him which ought never to be mistaken for pride and this isn't false praise on my part. His distinguishable style that echoes every aspect of his personality has landed him numerous opportunities and recognition.Currently the host of Pap and Fashion radio show on Yarona FM that covers a vast base of fashion related issues on which my blog and I were recently featured :).He has also been featured on TheVoiceBotswana fashion column with Tsholo Dikobe and other fashionistas for a style spread in memory of the Legendary Madiba.(which he totally nailed btw). Also noted by other bloggers on several other fashion blogs as a style crush such as FreeToBePunk but to mention one and has shown face on many social fashion sites for his remarkable well put ensembles.

Thuto and Thapelo looking GUCCI! Tribute to Nelson Mandela.

Had a mini online interview with him for the feature.I was profoundly moved by his effortless authenticity and
I must say his "I've got the world in my hands" attitude is almost contagious.

What aspect of life inspires your style?
My family is my number one inspiration!...Love *chuckles* and music come after
King T!

Fashion to you in one sentence...(one sentence became two,had to share both! :p)
Fashion is not,nor will it ever be a luxury or a privilege but a RIGHT!
Fashion is about saying "yes bitch...I breathe better air" without uttering a word.

Spring, summer, autumn or winter and why?
I'm obsessed with summer!! I hate to sound conceited but I love my body,I love revealing it and this particular seasons allows me to do so fully. Also I honestly believe I tend to be more creative than in other seasons.

Your BIGGEST fashion DON'T
ILL FITTING CLOTHES! Eww!I think I just threw up in my mouth a lil!

Note to fashion lovers
See, fashion is not about what you wear or how you wear it..its supposed to be a reflection of YOU, an expression of identity. Its all about creating an outer layer of skin!

Thapelo's versatility in fashion from grunge edge to tribal and vintage, speak volumes!A bold statement with few to no words.A quote I've always loved by an unknown author reads;"Free spirit, admire me from the ground, fly with me but don't ever try to cage me".It's best conveyed in his life and fashion culture. Its safe to say he's going places and there's NO stopping him.

Keep up with Thapelo on his facebook "Pap and fashion with Thapelo" page here and keep an eye on their blog here
A big shout out to all my faithful readers.God bless you all. With endless love...

"Crushed Roses" for women's day

March 8th of every year is  a day set aside for what in my opinion is the universe's most distinguished species. This piece is dedicated to my irreplaceable mother dearest Mpule Ditirwa, my only surviving grandparent  'Mama-nkuku' Julia Malema, my God-mother and aunt Realeboga Malema,my sisters Charity and Thapelo, all the women in my extended family as well as those who aren' t family but relate to the poem. Happy women's day :)

Soft pages with sweet phrases of hard-nut cases...
he said my eyes glow like a garden of roses
little did he know behind my smiles and them glossy eyes
i cry a solution of crushed petals as though sprouting from the mouth of hoses
he said my smile illuminates the world
I said its muscles that involuntarily flex like the hinges of automatic doors
to house souls that have only known 'home' to be dilapidated floors
and lost minds that stay and stray on Earth without a cause
he said my ebony dark hair and its mid rift length were mesmerizing
I let him in on how each strand was for the heart that is abused,a body that is misused and a soul that's been bruised.
he endlessly speaks praise of how my curves are intricately in place
I told him my creator is an artist, his work is his home and home is where the heart is
he sings of the glory in my silk lined suits and my sky high shoes
despite my hardships I move hearts and inspire aspiring stars without giving out clues
and with the happy masses I fuse, falling slave to defeat and failure iv refused
this is my way and my nature...
so he kept flipping those soft pages with sweet phrases of hard-nut cases
and dwells in his clouded perception of what a woman faces

Botswana's Own;second edition featuring Abigail Kope

Nihao lovings!

In today's post we continue to unearth great fashion voices from the motherland. It was suiting that I write about this woman! She's hip, young, fresh, trendy and all kinds of sexy. She probably needs no lengthy intro as its safe to call her a mini social mogul with an escalating number of followers on Instagram and Twitter to mention a few.Above all, her effortless sense of style conveyed in her daily posts make statements on her behalf!Behold the "tswana-lady" Miss Abigail Kope.

Abigail is a diva in every sense of the word, comparable to icons such as Kimora Lee Simmons for her equal ability to retain a business mind, make a fruitful living and anchor a family of her own. She's the founder of AKChicHair (hair retail) and a face beater (our language for makeup artist) on the rise!

A clingy orange number completed with a mirror belt
She's admirable for her vast wardrobe and her keenness on keeping up with whats trending. Her impeccably built body could sell even the most unattractive piece of cloth whilst her gorgeous face gives light to all her ensembles. In my own perspective, her fashion highlight has to be her 'preggers' ensembles. Its put out that pregnant ladies glow and look pretty when in actual fact putting
together a decent outfit to accommodate two could be one of the biggest fashion challenges, she simply nailed it!
here she played around with shades of pink partnered with a white skater skirt. We love the over-sized Blazer
Go Ombre or go home

Neon crop and monochrome print bottoms
you can never go wrong in white and denim.the sleeveless denim peplum is LIFE.
Abby serving Leg
