Botswana's Own;second edition featuring Abigail Kope

Nihao lovings!

In today's post we continue to unearth great fashion voices from the motherland. It was suiting that I write about this woman! She's hip, young, fresh, trendy and all kinds of sexy. She probably needs no lengthy intro as its safe to call her a mini social mogul with an escalating number of followers on Instagram and Twitter to mention a few.Above all, her effortless sense of style conveyed in her daily posts make statements on her behalf!Behold the "tswana-lady" Miss Abigail Kope.

Abigail is a diva in every sense of the word, comparable to icons such as Kimora Lee Simmons for her equal ability to retain a business mind, make a fruitful living and anchor a family of her own. She's the founder of AKChicHair (hair retail) and a face beater (our language for makeup artist) on the rise!

A clingy orange number completed with a mirror belt
She's admirable for her vast wardrobe and her keenness on keeping up with whats trending. Her impeccably built body could sell even the most unattractive piece of cloth whilst her gorgeous face gives light to all her ensembles. In my own perspective, her fashion highlight has to be her 'preggers' ensembles. Its put out that pregnant ladies glow and look pretty when in actual fact putting
together a decent outfit to accommodate two could be one of the biggest fashion challenges, she simply nailed it!
here she played around with shades of pink partnered with a white skater skirt. We love the over-sized Blazer
Go Ombre or go home

Neon crop and monochrome print bottoms
you can never go wrong in white and denim.the sleeveless denim peplum is LIFE.

Botswana's Own;First edition featuring Tsholo Dikobe

  Hello Lovings!

A big fabulous air hug from TheFashionPoet in the month of love! ;)

About a month or two ago I discovered a phenomenal woman in the world of fashion, pure Motswana at that..can it get any better? A friend of mine had always been a die hard fan of her work under GatshFros in partnership with Gaone Mothibi but it wasn't till I was dazzled by her Instagram account that I fell in absolute love. She's an unstoppable ball of fire, a defined and distinguished fashion soul, driven and determined whilst her destiny remains as much a mystery as her inimitable fashion sense, she's Tsholo Dikobe!

Style

At first sight, you are struck by her big deal of natural hair that screams "welcome to Africa".The magnificent combo of her medium thick curvy contoured body and her sun kissed face ooze confidence.Although she could remind you of Solange Knowles in her famed miss and match ensembles, not to mention the hair,Tsholo's fashion sense is branded TSHOLO and I'm yet to see another her. My poetic skills are put to test when I try describe or define her style but to mention the least, this woman dresses from the heart.A believer in fashion pieces borrowed from our mothers' years,Tsholo gives vintage a whole new meaning from colourful intricately printed materials to soft modern vogue looks. She understands the necessity to move with the times but isn't afraid to throw in what the rest of the world would deem unattractive to complete and fulfil her individual style, two words; fashion forward!

Tsholo on True Love Magazine
Tsholo and Alek Wek
.
Most recently, Tsholo has made her family, friends, fans and the nation at large proud by landing a spread in a brand new International magazine named NEW AFRICAN WOMAN (a world wide distributed UK magazine) in which movie star Lupita N'yongo is featured. Tsholo is featured under the heading "the rising stars" and that's exactly what she is.It has become very apparent that she's going places.

Its far beyond an honour to write about such a young inspirational being. My note to Tsholo:
You live my motto,"Big dreamer,Strong believer,Aspiring Achiever" and because of that you are another reason I am assured that no matter how big my dreams are, they are attainable.Your style, your posts, your words,on a daily from your instagram and otherwise you teach me and many others to be true to ourselves.Above all, your humility and your understanding of the saying "Motho ke motho ka batho" in coincidence with one of your blog post titles "I Am Because We Are" is simply priceless.Keep shining and rising!

Catch Tsholo on Instagram @thekhoi_fro,Facebook The Khoi-Fro,twitter @TheKhoi_Fro and lastly her flourishing blog on wordpress here!

A big thank you for reading.Stick around for my next post.Tonnes of love

Lost in Jinan

Took a while to let it sink in! That I was not less than 10 000 kilometres away from what I've called home for near two decades...my mind, well it followed into a trans as I stared out the bus window en route train station..

                                where was I?

A family of four all loaded onto a motor cycle reminded me of the comfort that was our family car
watching it puff smoke into the distance reminded me that I was soo far,tar is the norm out on these streets
a cigarette lights up as frequently as your heart beats
and so I'd play this game..where I'd give random men on the streets a name
Tom,Ben.... then I swear I'd see Tom again and after a split second realize it wasn't Tom but Ben
when!when I gave thought to our location I got malistic
and my paranoia wouldn't let me settle so I'd go ballistic
and before I knew it I was out the bus on the streets, not at the train station, alone for real
I was lost in Jinan

My ear could take no more of the sound salads that were meant to set me free
all I heard was a concussion of syllables as though that on a scratched CD
but ye though I walked through the valley of 'no direction' the lord was with me
beyond the clouds of smoke and through my tears of fear I could still see
after a long ride right across the city
on thousands of acres of land stood my university

so I'd say the first day was...well,deep!
the next couple of days were also a little hectic but its a whole other story now!
my new found love...
